Auto notify agency account holder when trial customers sign up

I had suggested at one point that activation emails be sent out when we add a new account int, but the other side of that is if a user wishes to sign up with us through our website, then we should also be able to notify the user who signed up and the Agency account team.

Hi Mike,

Great question. We definitely want you to know when a client is ready to go!

Currently, all of the 'activation' buttons are in your hands. But when we release the invitation process, where you send an email invitation to your clients to set up their own accounts, you'll get an email when they take you up on it and activate.

Does that get at it? If not, feel free to email me directly. jim [at] myemma.com.

I'm going to mark this topic as Planned, since you'll receive notifications when clients open their accounts once our invitation process has been released. The piece that isn't planned, for clarification, is letting people sign up from your website.

Hey there! This looks like the notification you receive when someone signs up for a specific email list, not the new account invitation process; is that right? I’m doing some testing regarding our signup forms, but I want to make sure first that I understand which feature you’re using before moving this out to a separate conversation. Let me know!

Yeah it looks like it would have been here: https://app.e2ma.net/app2/audience/si... (which is on my contact us page)

Hello! In chatting with our team, this is actually related to the signup form notification email. Since it’s separate from the new client invitation feature we switched on for you from the earlier conversation, I'm creating a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Link in new signup notification email goes to error page

Hey Katie,

Can you reach out to me with some information on where to find the new client invitation stuff. I'm going to send out some invitations for my 1 year anniversary and i want to have it all set up soon :)

Hey there! Are you inviting customers to create email marketing accounts in honor of your one-year anniversary, or you’re sending out party invitation emails and want to know when people RSVP? I think there might be a misunderstanding about what the above feature Jim talked about does, which lets you send an invitation to a potential client for them to open up their own sub-account beneath your agency.

I get it now.. i believe i found it yesterday too.. Under "Create an Account" it allows you to send an invite out to the new client on your behalf. Rather than manually signing them up yourself... This is still a little different than what i had talked about before.

I was hoping to have something set up where potential clients can sign up for our services (InDygital) and enter our database as a member interested in using the Emma email platform + our design team; thereby allowing them to see how the email system works.

Then once they have filled out their information both the agency (InDygital) and the signing up person are sent messages. One message says "You have a new trial customer" and the other says "Welcome to [Agency Name]". The client can then dabble in the trial environment of the email platform.

I think i was dreaming when i came up with this concept, I'm not trying to remove the sales process here, but i am trying to automate the account sign up process a bit. (I know you said this piece isn't planned earlier) I just wanted to be clear about my idea.

Finally, to answer your question.. i'm not having a party.. i can't afford one :) But i was thinking of promoting some free email marketing advice and maybe even a "deal" for signing up during our 1 year anniversary. So I wanted to be sure i understood how to use the customer sign up emails that your team built!

Thanks.. sorry for the long message.

There might be another way for you to achieve this: You could set up a signup form in your agency sub-account to post on your website. That signup form could include options (audience groups) for people to choose from, labeled something like “I’d like more information about your email service.”

When they check that box, they’re added to the group in your audience, and you can target and groom those leads appropriately, and they’re now in your Emma account. Here’s  a bit more about customizing your signup form. From there, you’d send them the account creation invitation.

Sorry to hear there’s no party in your future! But if I’m remembering right, you’re recently engaged, so you’ve another party to plan down the line. :)

And no apologies for a long message — Detail like this is so helpful as we look at how we’re shaping our product and where users would like to see it taken. Appreciate it!

Happy Monday, all! I want to update you that we still think this is a really good idea, yet there's a long list of these agency tools that we want to build. We're keeping this on the list, and so as not to give the impression we're planning to work on this in the near future, I'm changing this conversation's status to Not Planned.

Thank you!
