Hi,
I created an automation workflow of serveral emails. The first email should be triggered immediately. I defined a group as audience. After I actived the workflow I imported contacts manually but the workflow does not trigger.

Are imports of contacts not a trigger for automated workflows?

Importing contacts does not trigger signup automation.

Signup automation can be triggered by contacts signing up via Classic and Lightbox signup forms, contacts added via the "Add" button in the Audience tab, and contacts added using the API's add and signup calls.

I'd suggest using date-based automation as an alternative for contacts you wish to import.

When using date-based automation and importing contacts, I suggest setting the trigger date a couple of days out. Emma checks the trigger on the day prior (about 7PM) to see if it will send out. Importing with a trigger date a couple days after ensures you'll not miss this window.
