Schedule multiple sends for the same email while on the Review & Send page

I would like to see a feature added to the "Schedule for later" screen where you would could select multiple times and groups from the same screen and get all the sends scheduled with one button click. This use case would work similar to below (assumes all lists have been uploaded).
  1. Select MailingOne from Draft list.
  2. Click "Review & Send" button
  3. Click the "Schedule for later" link
  4. Choose Date/Time for send 1
  5. Choose Recipients for send 1 (group 1)
  6. Select "Schedule another"
  7. Choose Date/Time for send 2
  8. Choose Recipients for send 2 (group 2)
  9. Select "Schedule another"
  10. Choose Date/Time for send 3
  11. Choose Recipients for send 3 (group 3)
  12. Select "Finish"
  13. View Scheduled Tab
  14. User sees MailingOne listed three time with send 1 date/time to group 1, send 2 date/time to group 2 and send 3 date/time to group 3
A feature or the option similar to above would make the process of scheduling much smoother and less cumbersome when it comes to scheduling the same email to different groups.

Thanks, Chuck.

Hi Chuck! We talked here about why scheduling the same mailing multiple times is manual, so that response data is kept separate for each mailing and if there’s a need to cancel, say, the send to the second group, that’s possible since it’s technically a separate mailing.

With the above, it sounds like you’d still expect to see MailingOne listed three times on the Scheduled and Sent tabs and three times on the Response page; is that right? Is the problem you’re trying to solve simply the scheduling steps and not the mailing separations?

I guess the post you reference and my suggestion are kind of one in the same but the question in the referenced post was in the vane of resending a previous sent email without having a copy of it added the draft and you addressed the reasoning behind that.

With the proposed idea I am specifically speaking of the scheduling steps and how you described it is how I would envision is working with the ability to cancel the individual scheduled sends independently of each other.

I want to add, the reason for this is we have found that you have to wait for your first scheduled email to send before you can schedule it again which means I have to wait for the 1:00 pm email to move from Scheduled to Sent before I can schedule that same email for 2:00pm (this all in regards to sending the same email campaign).

Thanks for these details! To your last point, could you go ahead and create the copies of your mailings so that you the multiple copies exist on the Draft tab at the same time, and then go into each to schedule them? That would get you around needing to wait for the mailing to complete sending.

I know that doesn’t truly resolve what you’re seeking, but it may be a workaround. I’m checking in with our Product Team to learn what other considerations we might want to make for this. Thanks, Chuck!

Hi again, Chuck! This is a pretty specific use case, and it sounds as though staggering your mailing sends is the resolution we're more likely to pursue, as it's more widely beneficial.

Our Automation Team is working through how to allow a mailing to be sent more than once, which would prevent the need for you to make copies of mailings to send multiple times. It's still in the planning phase and at least a few months out, so I'll keep you updated here as plans change.

Hi Marty! If you have Automation turned on in your account, you may have found that you can send an email more than once without creating a copy of it -- Once it's sent, it'll still appear as a reusable email in your list, and you can open it and resend it.

This doesn't quite follow the workflow Aspire suggested above, as they're wanting to schedule an email multiple times from within the same Review & Send screen.

If you have access to Automation, does that get you what you need? If not, will you help me understand which piece is integral to your work?

I have a customer that when he does a campaign, he will send out the same email a week before the event, the day before the event, last day of the event, etc.

Currently, I have to duplicate the email X amount of times, rename it, reschedule it, reschedule the social media, etc.  It takes a long time to set up not to mention having to worry you got everything correct time after time.

Seems like it would be much easier (even at the cost of having combined response feedback) to be able to schedule a single campaign, for as many dates and times as you need in one shot.

Thanks, Marty, that helps! It sounds like scheduling multiple sends all on the same screen is what's more important to you, more so than separated response data. I don't think we'd create this if it meant the separate mailing sends had combined data. Automation does let you create an email once and send it multiple times without duplicating or renaming it, though you'll need to hop back to the Review & Send page when you're ready to send it the second and subsequent times.

I'm guessing you don't have Automation yet in your account, though you will in the new year. I'd love to hear the impression after your customer starts using it, and I'll keep you posted here about any changes to multiple sends within the same screen.

In the meantime, I'm updating the subject line and status here to reflect that the request is really for scheduling multiple sends at once, not just the piece about not wanting to duplicate a sent mailing (which is how your sends will work now with Automation). Let me know if I'm missing anything!
