Can I get rid of the opt out wording in the footer?

Right now all of my footers say:

.... manage your preferences | opt out using TrueRemove®.

I would like to re-word this line to say

Unsubscribe from this list by managing your preferences.

Both the word "unsubscribe" and "manage" should go to the "manage preferences" option form.  We do not want to feature the true remove, because we offer many lists and struggle to get our library patrons back onto lists they want after they have used the "TrueRemove" option.

Is this possible?

Thanks - Alysa

Hi Alysa!

Greg with Emma Support here!

The opt out link using True Remove is required for any mailings sent through Emma. This is part of our Terms of Use to keep both you and Emma compliant with federal law and also to protect your reputation when sending (along with Emma's).

While the link cannot be removed, we're more then happy to work with you on the wording in the footer. If you let me know the name of the template and how you'd like the wording rephrased, I can make this change for you. For example, you might say something like, "click HERE to opt out of all our mailings, or click HERE to change your mailing preferences."

If you're interested, let me know and I'll make this change for you.

For wording in the footer, we want it to be clear that there is a single link for opting out of (or unsubscribing) from emails. Otherwise you might run into a recipient that complains that they tried to opt-out (or unsubscribe) and were unable to do so. Since these sorts of complaints affect both your sending reputation and Emma's, we do not deviate from this format.

Let me know your updated wording, and I'll be glad to make the change for the Literary Sojourn and Bud Werner Events templates. Remember, there should be no confusion over which link is used to opt-out (or unsubscribe) and which link is used to manage preferences.

Large scale changes to templates in our template gallery are handled a little differently. If you're interested, check out our Services page at http://myemma.com/services . There you can submit a request to our Design team for template changes. There may be a cost involved depending on the work; we'll advise you of the cost (if any) before starting any work.
