Can I see how many times a specific email is opened??

In my salesforce account when someone opens an email I can see the email was opened just like in Emma BUT is salesforce they also track how many times a person opens it.  This is nice for us to know because it can tell us if a person may be forwarding our email around to others in their company or it call tell us if a person might be interested and going back to review our information.  

In Emma I noticed when a person clicks on a link if they click multiple times the same email shows up again so essentially telling us how may times a single person clicks on a link.  

My question is can we find out how many times a person opens an email like is salesforce and similar to a clicked link in Emma??

Hi there!

Emails are tracked as opened when the pictures inside are downloaded from our server.  What this means is that once this has happened the first time, it won't be tracked again.  I can completely understand why you might want to see if people are opening your email on multiple occasions as this might indicate interest, but it's not something that's on the card for us to implement in the short-term.  Instead, tracking the links clicked, the click map, and shares will give you a much more robust set of data that you can work with.  After all, these are more likely to turn into a conversion than someone perusing back over an email.

To address your motive - forwarding mailouts is an easy way to share, but it actually causes a whole new set of issues.  Once that email has been sent back out there it's no longer something we have any control over.  Often mailings will render incorrectly and links can act strange, so we tend to encourage the use of the "Share this mail" button located towards the bottom of the mailing.  This will ensure the correct formatting remains in place, and will allow you to see who has passed on your email - no speculation required.  Check out this article from our Resource Center with a few hints on encouraging the sharing of your mailings.

If you want to see who might be interested in your mailings, experiment with some stellar Call to Action buttons and move them from just potentially interested into a conversion - get those readers clicking away!
