Can I create a double opt-in?

We would like to add a double opt-in feature to reduce e-mail entry errors.

Good idea! There is a double opt-in ability currently in your account. When someone signs up, they'll receive a confirmation email, where they can click a link to confirm their opt-in. (You can check to see if they've done this.) You can view and edit the Confirm It message by clicking on your signup form name on the Audience page and then selecting the Confirm it tab. You will also see the option to turn off the confirmation message in this tab. (Here’s also how to create an opt-in confirmation mailing.)

It's not required for an audience member to have confirmed their opt-in status in order for you to send to them, but Emma offers that second layer of opting in to a mailing list for a couple of reasons. First, it allows you to see who your most interested audience members are, and second, it allows you to create a search of people who have confirmed their opt-in status should you feel that you only want to target those individuals with your campaigns.
