Can I create color swatches in the text color picker?

I use a branded color for subheads in my mailings, and I'm wondering if I can create a color swatch? It looks like there is room on the right of the drop down box for a few custom swatches.

Hey there! Adding a custom color swatch would be something our awesome design folks could add to a particular template and you can request this through the design form via the link below

http://myemma.com/design-form

Hopefully this helps, but please let me know if I can assist further.

Thanks Tyler. So the only way to get another swatch on that flyout menu is to request additional development? Is this not something we as clients could add to templates ourselves?

Good morning! You are correct, this would fall to our design team to add for you. This is currently not a feature in which our customers have the ability to add their own color swatch. You of course have the ability to select a desired color from the color spectrum or if you know the RGB value, you are able to enter this as well.

I will be sure to move this over to the Ideas section of the Community to see if it is able to gain some traction as a future enhancement though. Our product owners are consistently active looking over those very pages for new ideas from our amazing customers, such as your self. :-)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hello! Next year, we're going to explore global styling like this. We haven't dug in too much yet to see how complex it will be, but it's definitely on our radar for the near future. :)

I truly wish I had some more CSS training and am trying to carve out some time for that. In the meantime however, any element in Emma that can be applied globally and/or across multiple campaigns to help reinforce our brand, is always a welcome time-saver!

Hey there- I just stumbled on a fix, and just wanted to share with anyone who may be using Template Builder in an Agency account.

According to the very helpful comments in the code: "Put this *data-e2ma-color* tag into the root HTML element in your template and you can define up to five custom swatches that will show up on the color picker."

Just tried it and it worked like a charm! :)

I saw that comment too and would like to do it for my clients as well. But where is the "root HTML Element" and what exactly am I pasting in? I'm looking to add #36579a to the color picker.

Thanks so much,

Hi Andrew,
In your Template Builder edit view, just add your custom swatch to the existing swatches being called in "data-e2ma-color", right in the starting table tag of the email. Here you'll see I added #00AEEF to my existing swatches. For me, this is line 111.

 <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="" data-e2ma-color="#AA0000, #00AA00, #00AEEF">

Are you starting with the "Code Your Own" template builder?

I do use the Template Builder, but through Menu --> Assets on the upper right. In this existing code is where I added the custom swatch.

Ahh, okay. Thanks for that. I haven't created any assets yet. I just switched to the agency account not too long ago.

Hello all! I’m jumping in after taking a look at our product roadmap to let you know that global styling has been pushed back to next year to tackle. We’re working on some other exciting projects right now, so we’ll revisit this in 2015.

Any update on this? It's a small thing, but adds a surprising amount of time to my design time since I am constantly having to key in color codes every time I want to change a color. Thanks!

Nothing on this right now... color swatches can be added on a "by template" basis, but not added from within the editor.

I would REALLY love this feature.
