I'm looking at creating a message that will go to several different groups. We would like to customize a block of text in the message for each group, without having to create different messages.  Is there a way to create conditional content like this in Emma?

Hi Katie! I saw that you commented on this idea — Is that what you’re looking for?

If you’re only customizing one area of your mailing, you might consider using the personalization feature and creating a new contact field that you’d personalize in the mailing. Otherwise, I think the above idea is what you’re after, but let me know!

Yes, something else has come up on this topic since your last response.

I'd like to create a field to hold a URL, and use personalization to show different links to different people. I've created a test field called "donationlink" that holds a URL. If I use personalization and insert this field, it looks like this in the editor:

Donation Link = [% member:donationlink default="" %]

When I send myself a test email, this works - I see this in my email:

Donation Link = http://www.myURL.com/

I tried to use this personalization syntax to link text. I inserted an html text block, and tried this code:

<p>Look at <a href="[% member:donationlink default="" %]">THIS LINK</a> now.</p>

However, when I try to save this, I get an error message and can't save. Is there any chance this can work? Being able to do this is really important for some of our upcoming plans.

Please let me know what you think. Thank you!

Hi Katie! This sounds a bit different from our main topic here. Are you all set with the conditional content question?

As for your other question, you can create a personalized URL by following these steps.

Hope this helps!
