This random image box is in my preview (and test mailing) but not in the drag and drop editor.  It
showed up out of nowhere, I don't know how to get rid of it

I've restarted my computer and tried making a copy and neither has helped.

Brandi, you’re using the Rows tool for this mailing, and it seems that at some point you may have duplicated one of the rows and deleted the original. Since rows are turned on, it’s forcing the row to display in the inbox.

I created a copy of your mailing to do some troubleshooting. (You’ll spot it in your mailing list with "Katie’s copy" in the title.) I tried turning rows off and then back on, selecting a three-column layout, and some extra boxes appeared. I deleted those, and then dragged the last text box to a new position. Now the image placeholder doesn’t come through to my inbox.

I’m not positive how that placeholder inserted itself to begin with, but my inkling is it has to do with how rows were applied and interacted with earlier.

Hi! I'm troubleshooting in your account now, so you might see some test sends of mine. I'll keep you posted when I get this fixed.

Hello again! This is strange, indeed. The good news is that I have a version of your mailing called "New Editor Construction - testing" that's working now. In it, our technical support specialist, who was helping troubleshoot with me, turned off the rows feature and added in a top text box as a regular text box. This seemed to fix a couple problems, including the extra image placeholder at the bottom. Would you mind taking a look and confirming that that's working for you?

Also, I'd love to hear how you got to this point with the extra image placeholder. Did you copy an old mailing that was using the rows feature? We've tried a handful of combinations with rows and layouts to figure out how that image is popping up, but we can't figure out the exact steps to make it happen.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Glad to hear this is resolved! If you have placeholder blocks repopulating in the inbox, Rows are always the first thing to check. These can be a little unpredictable if you've copied this mailing over from one that had rows turned on. You may need to toggle on an additional column in order to access the Rows button and double check that no rows are turned on.

I'm happy to take a look if you run into this again. Just be sure to include the mailing name here. :)
