Clicking undo button is destroying campaign

We've been having problems using the Undo/Redo buttons while editing a campaign. On a number of occasions, clicking the "Undo" button has resulted in entire sections of the campaign disappearing entirely - like it's jumping back too far or something. Clicking "Redo" again does not fix it. All the work we've done appears to just be gone forever and we have to redesign the entire campaign. I've been avoiding using the "Undo/Redo" buttons as a result, but that adds time to the design process. Is there a better solution? We use Firefox to access Emma. Thank you.

Hi there,

First, let me say, I can understand why you avoid it. It isn't the most refined tool.  We do have many requests to get it up to snuff and I know our Dev team is looking into it. If you'd like, I will add you to those requests.

In the meantime making sure that you have cleared your browser cache and cookies can help the process a bit. I find that when the undo, undoes too much, it is usually because my cache is full. The other thing you can do, is get in the habit of hitting save. Another way that you can recover content, is by sending tests. The online versions (or webview) can be used to rebuild content lost. I use this method quite a bit in Support, to recover content for folks.

None of this, I realize, is optimal, but we are working on ways to make this experience much better for all of our customers.

So you mean my whole newsletter was wiped out and that's all you have to say? Two hours work down the drain. Thanks so much!

Hey there LA-CAMFT ,

I do hate that you lost time on your work.  We realize that's no small thing, and we are working on a solution to replace those buttons as a piece of some larger enhancements that we're making to the editor.

This particular issue is one that has caused a lot of folks grief and we are addressing it in a great way.  While it does take a while to rebuild that functionality (and even add in some new features), we completely understand that it's frustrating in the meanwhile.

I did also want to mention that I'll be removing the expletive from you post, for obvious reasons.  That being said, "message received"!

So, is the Undo button no longer available? I don't see it up by the Saved button. I'd rather have an Undo button that takes me one step too far than not to have one at all. Thanks.

Hi folks!

I'm happy to announce that TODAY we have done away with the undo button!

We have now REPLACED the undo button with our new "Revert To" button!

In the new system, for EACH INDIVIDUAL EDITING SESSION, Emma will check every 15 seconds to see if you've made changes to your mailing and save that version of your mailing.

If you find that you need to revert back to an earlier version, click the "Revert To" button to choose the time-frame that you need to revert back to.

We will save up to 30 versions per editing session, at which point the older ones begin to roll off.

It's very important to note that the "Revert To" only works in a single session and will reset any time you leave the editor (or if you refresh your browser window).

Let me know if you have any questions!

Interesting. Thanks for the quick answer. I did notice that Emma now automatically saves work; now I know why.
