We would like to collect RSVP information from an invitation we're sending.  Please advise on how best to set up the link.

Hi there!

When collecting RSVP information for an invitation the best way is to use a signup form for folks to fill out, and link to that form from the body of the email.  If you're not familiar with navigating around your signup forms, take a look at this guide here.

The first thing you'll want to do is set up member fields for the data your collecting, for RSVP forms it's a good idea to have a radio button for folks to select whether or not they'll be attending, and so that you'll be able to search for contacts attending for your records.

Once you've created or ensured you have the fields you need, head over to your Audience page, scroll down, click on the "Classic Forms" tab, and create a new form.  Now you'll want to uncheck the "hidden" fields that you'd like to be displayed on the form, add some appropriate copy and hit save.

To link to this signup form from within your mailing, you'll want to use the url: [% manage_url %] and be sure to select the new form on the "Send Test" and "Review and Send" windows from the corresponding drop-down menu.

After you've sent that mailing out, you'll be able to create a segment based on "contact information" for those have selected "yes".

Most importantly - be sure to send yourself a test to make sure that you've got everything in place!

You should be good but please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
