Contact list import process

I just imported a list of new contacts and attached it to a group. What happens next? Does an email get sent to those folks to ask them to opt in? How can I see (and potentially edit) what they receive?

Same question for new email addresses added manually.

If any of these email addresses were added to myemma previously, will the person receive a new prompt to opt in?

Hi Katie!

Confirmation emails would only come from a signing up via a signup form. The confirmation that send with the form can be found in the form edit screen by navigating to audience > forms > signup > confirmation email. From here you can edit what gets sent out automatically.

You could also setup a welcome email automation series by going to automation > create a new workflow. More information on this can be found here:
