Is it possible within Emma to create a segment based on random people within a group? For example, can I create a segment of 3,000 random subscribers from a group of 300,000?

Hi, Matt!  That’s not a feature that we currently have, but I’d be glad to run it up the chain to see if it’s been planned as part of a future addition.

As a quick follow up - can you let us know what your goal would be with a feature like this?

Got it. My backup plan is to export subscribers to Excel and do a random pull from there, then import into a new list.

The goal is to choose a random sample for a survey. Our survey partner only wants 3,000 responses, but we have a main list of 265,000+.

Hey Matt, thanks for the feedback. That's an interesting use case. We don't have this feature planned on the horizon. We are, however, designing a lot of ideas around a more powerful segment builder and improved ways to visualize the performance of and between segments. We're looking forward to continuing to round out these concepts to make the audience portion of Emma as valuable as possible. Thanks again — hope the backup plan works for you.

Best,
David
