Creating a re-opt-in campaign with subscriber options.

We are looking to do a re-opt-in campaign and there are a few things we'd like to do and I'm not quite sure how (or if it's possible) to fit them all together.
1. Give subscribers the option of what topics they receive from us. We'd like to customize the sign up form so they can opt-in to all or some of the options:
a. Legal updates
b. New product announcements
c. Monthly newsletter
I imagine these as adding subscribers to separate lists, but can multiple lists be part of the sign-up form in this fashion?

2. We'd like to segment each of those lists to Group Products and Individual Products. So ideally, we would set up a check box that they are interested in Group or Individual and they'd get added to that segment of the above lists they choose.

3. Finally,an option in the list to Unsubscribe from all electronic communications, thereby unsubscribing themselves from myEmma.

We'd like this process to be as easy and automated as possible, so we prefer not to have to set up a survey that we then have to manually add members to various subscriber lists.

Any recommendations?

Hi there,

You have some good questions here, so I'll address each one:

1. As long as you map the fields in your audience, and give your new signups the option of choosing the topics they're interested in, you can create a drop down field for your signup form where new members can choose/customize their interests. This can be done in 'manage fields,' and it will show up in your signup form:



This information will stay with the member in Emma, and should you want to do a search later on based on member information for people who have selected a certain interest, Emma will pull them and you can copy that search into a new group.

2. If you want to give your signups the option of choosing different groups to be added into, you can do that in your signup form. You can either delegate on your end the groups they'll be added to, or you can have them choose the groups they'd like to be added to when they sign up:

3. At the bottom of every Emma email is a "manage preferences" link and an "opt out" link. Managing preferences gives your audience members the option of selecting which groups they'd like to receive from. When they click the opt out button, they're automatically opted out of all future Emma correspondence. If you use a confirmation email with your signup, an opt out link and a manage preferences link are included in the confirmation email for anyone who may have signed up in error.
