Customization from template gallery, template?

Is there a way to visually customize a pre-made template in the editor?  I understand you can add items through the drag/drop menu and their respective settings, however not to the extent I'm looking for. The plaintext HTML from these offers little to work with as well.
Lets use the "New Harbor" template as an example.  I'd like to add another ribbon-like visual that wraps around the entire body, however it doesn't seem like this is possible.  Am I better off going with building my own template from scratch, or is there a way to meet somewhere in the middle?

Thanks!

Hi there!

There are a couple of different options you can go with for what you are looking to do.  The first option would be to work with our awesome Service Specialists and have a custom template designed for you.  We can design and create a custom template based on your design requirements.  If you are interested in speaking with a Service Specialist, complete this form and someone from the team will be sure to reach out to you!

Although you do not have access to the template code for any of the templates in the Template Gallery, you can customize the templates using the Drag & Drop Editor and then you can save that version by using the 'save as template' feature in your account.  In this case, it sounds like you have tried that and are not able to accomplish what you are looking to do.  If you are HTML savvy, you can create your own template by dropping in your designs HTML into the Code Your Own template, which can be located at the top of the page when you click on 'create a new email' button.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.  I am always happy to help!

I have the same issue. There are a few readymade templates that I like, but when I delete the logo image there is still a great deal of extra white space added there as a place holder when I send the test email.

Here's my problem:

I don't really want a brand new template, and it seems ridiculous to ask us to pay over $100 for a custom design when really I just want a bit more flexibility with a readymade design. For example, I'd like to be able to delete the logo space and move the links at the top of the Blok template to the bottom of the template. Or to combine the top of the North State template (one large image block instead of a lone logo) with the footer of the Retail collection Thank You email. Or to have the option to make the logo space wider in width (the full width of an email).

Hey there Sierra,

I wanted to pop in and see if you've put those requests in to our DESIGN REQUEST form?   I'm not sure what the cost would be for the changes that you're requesting, but I would at least get a specific quote to make sure!

Our designers put together these templates as customizable as they can while still retaining their initial design.  We're happy to create a custom version of that template for you, but it does take changing the underlying code for how the template is built.   That can take some significant time, which is why we would need to have a designer discuss with you the exact changes you'd need in order to quote out for their time.

I hope that helps make sense of why there are charges for those customizations.   Let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers!
