What on earth is happening with the new image library?

It forces us to put the image in the library - which we do not want to do.  The old default of 'add to library' was irksome enough.  90% of the images we use are one off's for a specific email.

Not only must everything go through the library - which can take an age to load - but we no longer get automatically the screen that requests a link!  Consequently, we sent out an email missing links!  Why make the very purpose of the email more difficult to achieve!?!?

I cannot imagine any user being pleased with image up-load and constructing links being more difficult to do.  We now have to spend time checking all the images (40 in our latest) to make sure they have links.

Please tell me this is not going to see the light of day and that you'll revert back to the old way without the automatic 'add to library' default please.

Thanks!

Hi there, Peter. Sorry to hear that the new process isn't working with your workflow. This is a beta period so we're certainly looking for this exact type of feedback.

The changes up to this point are addressing customers' need to upload and insert several images at once. Clearly this has come at the expense of the one-off workflow that you mentioned.

We'll take this along with the other comments we've collected and make adjustments as we continue to revise these new features and experiences. Look for further updates in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, we'd be glad to roll you back to the previous upload experience.

Thank you for the honest feedback.

Sincerely,
Cale

Thank you, Cale for the straightforward response.

I'm glad to be back with our previous upload experience.  Thank you.

It does seem to us here after some discussion that library manipulation is a separate activity from creating and editing an email.  The 'previous upload experience' is ideal for ad hoc additions.

Whereas, managing a library, whether to delete, edit or add one off, or multiple images is not dependent on an email being created, so shouldn't be obligated to be part of that process.

Just our 2c

Thanks for the forum in which to present it.

You hit the nail on the head regarding two different activities. It's a longer-term goal of ours to further separate asset management from image manipulation within a mailing.

For now, however, you should see the original image library in your account the next time you log in.

Thanks again!
