Export bounces in one click from the Response page

Is there an easy one-click way to export bounces? I'd like to be able to export directly from the response page rather than having to save the tab as a segment, then going to the segment and exporting. That seems like extra work and creates additional unnecessary segments that I don't use.

Hello! Great question and currently you're taking all of the right steps to export those bounces. We'll soon be rolling out a revamped response page which is going to be all sorts of awesome, but with regards to exporting the same process will be in place. Perhaps in a future roll-out there will be a one click option, but there aren't any immediate plans to implement this. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Please have it added to the list for a future roll-out! I'll bet I'm not the only one who would like the one-click option.

Hey there! Just jumping in to say I’ve updated this conversation’s subject and am looping in our product team. I’ll keep you posted with what they say.

Hello again! We don't have immediate plans to put an export button on the bounce page, but the export overhaul we've been working on will allow you to pick and choose the things you want to export, bounces being one of those things (also clicks, shares, mailings received, etc.).

Do you think this would solve your need to export bounces? It isn't a one-click option, yet it would give you an export of only bounces, if you wished, and avoid segmenting those contacts first.

Hello,

We would like to use the exported bounces from MyEmma to update our internal database. However, we only want to look at Hard Bounces and not Soft Bounces. It would be great if the one click export could include a column detailing the bounce type. Is this possible?

Hi Aaron! It isn’t possible right now, of course, but as we work on the larger exporting overhauI mentioned above, it’s certainly something we can explore after that release is out.

Is it more beneficial for you to have a hard/soft bounce column or to see the error codes that the receiving server sent us?

Bounce type information would be helpful. For instance, I'd like to know if the bounce is because the email address is no longer valid or the person's mailbox is full because they are on vacation.

The server replies aren’t usually as clear as "Invalid email" or "Full mailbox." They might read "550 Invalid mailbox: sally@company.com," but more often they read "450 Unknown (path: p-bna-fbl01.int:/opt/api/tmp/bounces/20140717144224.BG...) (handler: handle_bp_message)."

In talking with our product team, it sounds as though it’s possible to surface those replies for the export, but I just want to set the expectation that that’s the type of data that will be pulled in. I definitely understand that having more information instills confidence, and I’m letting them know that it would be nice to have this data included.

Yes, being able to export bounces, and choose the type of bounce to export, would be very helpful.

In a perfect world, we would love to pull all bounces by date ranges rather than by mailings. Instead of going into each mailing to pull the report for bounced emails, I want to say something like give me all the bounces (from all mailings) in a specific account between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30. :)

Hey there! I'm moving your post to a new conversation so we can chat about this idea. :) Please reference the new topic here: Export all bounces within date range instead of by mailing
