If you’ve had an Emma account for some time, you have had access to two campaign editors: the classic editor and the drag & drop editor.  For most, the classic editor is on a separate page, and clicking to go there shows this message along the top:

We’ve been talking it up for awhile, but to reiterate: We are going to retire the classic editor. It isn’t scary at all, since the drag & drop editor is sleeker, has more capabilities and gives you access to a bevy of features like image editing, split testing, our readymade template gallery and a team at the ready to help with your needs. (We know you’re a busy bee.) Actually, there’s only a small sliver of Emma users who even still use the classic editor.

That brings me to this: Help us understand what’s keeping you in the classic editor! Is it a layout you’re having trouble replicating in the drag & drop editor? Do you create a copy of your mailing each month and send without changing it? We have a nifty video to show how to recreate your email.

Additionally, if you’ve made the transition from classic to drag & drop, what’s been the biggest benefit for you? Do let us know if you’re ready to have the classic editor turned off, too, and we can do that for you now.

What does "read-only state" mean?  Does it mean that the links in the campaign I just created this morning won't work?

Hi! Read-only state means:
  • You can view existing classic editor mailings in preview mode
  • You cannot create new mailings in the classic editor
  • You cannot edit mailings or copy new mailings in the classic editor
  • You cannot modify the content or timing of a scheduled mailing or active autoresponder
It doesn’t refer to your specific mailing but rather to the classic editor as a whole.
