Getting CAN SPAM warning from the proofer.

We have run into a new issue that was not a problem two weeks ago.

We can't send our latest newsletter out because when Emma reviews it and offers the "fixes" it says that "CAN-SPAM requires you to have an unsubscribe link" in the HTML code, but the template built in to Emma already has that embedded in it.

Usually we can just skip all of Emmas "suggested fixes" but this one is "required" in order to move forward. I've tried using all three browsers: Chrome (Version 51.0.2704.84), Firefox and Safari and none of them will let me move forward. I've logged in with different accounts in the office, and we all get the same error message.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there,

I popped in to your account to take a look at your mailing, and I actually didn't see the " [% unsub_url %] " tag.

Is it possible that, in the coding, you removed the Emma footer?  If you check out your mailing in preview, the standard Emma footer is not there.

If you check the lefthand side of the editor, you can see the required tag.  The New Code Your Own editor  is a fully self-service tool, and when you open up a mailing in that editor, you're seeing the code for the entire mailing, template and all.

If you were wanting to use the Emma standard footer, the code for that is in the default code that is there when you open up a new mailing using the New CYO.

That's different than the older version, wherein you would have a single block that you could edit the HTML for.  If you're wanting to use that version, the best way to do it would be to use the "Blank Without A Header" template, delete the default blocks that are there, and drag in an HTML block.  That is, in essence, the same thing.

Let me know if you have any questions.
