How can I match uploaded data to Emma member ID field?

I would like to be able to upload data to contact records using a subscriber's "member_id" rather than their email address, but this doesn't seem to be an option in the contacts import function.

Is there a way to manually import data using the "member_id" as the primary field instead of email address? Any other idea on how to work with member ID outside of the API?

Hi Lauren,
There is not a way to specify the primary field in the import process, but I am going to go ahead and put in a feature request on your behalf for that, as it is something that quite a few customers have requested. In the meantime, imports will be matching based on emails. If you don't mind me asking, what is your specific use case for needing to update via member ID as opposed to email?

Hi Ben, Use case would be if we were using the Emma ID as an identifier in a  conversion tracking scenario in one of our vendor databases (in which with have no opportunity to establish an API connection with Emma).

I'd like to be able to anonymously identify the user via Emma ID in the vendor database, so I can manually update their record via csv to identify them as a "conversion".

Thanks for adding the feature request.  We're racking our brains on how to deal with conversion tracking across all our random vendor sites.

Ben:  One idea on this:  If we had the ability to download the member_id field as a column when we export contacts, we could do the analysis in excel. Just an idea if that's a simpler, quicker fix.

Hi Lauren,
I will definitely elevate that to our developers. Right now the only way to access member ID in an export would be via the API. If you have a developer that you work with they could pretty easily get that data for you. Our tech services team could also obtain these exports for you as well.

I am just following up on this -- any updates on the member_ID field being a downloadable field?
