How can you create cross-platform app deep links from email?

I am trying to create a link from an email to directly open the Facebook app, if installed, or just go to their website if not. I would like an event invitation in an email to link directly to the Facebook event page but in the app if installed.
When this link currently opens your browser, requiring log in etc. it really hurts or stope the user experience.

I have been trawling the web for a couple of hours now and cannot find an easy way to achieve this. The best solution I could find was with http://www.deeplink.me/sociallinks
This is a premium service however and I just don't have enough volume to justify the ongoing expense.

Does Emma provide and sort of support for Deep Linking directly from an email? It seems the problem becomes more complex if you need iOS and Android support.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for reaching out.

We currently don't have any way to do that in the Emma app.  I am going to submit this functionality to our developers as something to look at adding in the future.

I'm actually going to go ahead and change this to an "Idea" post as well, so we can track it.

Cheers!

Also, one of my coworkers found this site that will create special links that will allow them to open in the FB app.

https://app.urlgeni.us/#/

This is completely outside of Emma, and would not work with our Social Follow block, as you can't customize the entire URL.  But you could use that site to create a custom URL and put it under a button, image, or text.

I'm still going to pass this along to the developers to see what we can do to bring that functionality into the app itself.

Thanks again!
