I am wanting to set up a birthday card to send to my clients when it's their birthday but I don't see where/how to automatically send this. I can only add the name and email. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Robin,

Great idea! You can do this by heading to automation in the top of your account, then 'Create a new workflow' to get started.

From here you would just need to select the audience you want to send to and a trigger type.

For birthdays I would suggest using a date-based automation of the 'anniversary' type. This will ensure its a recurring send every year on that date.

Next you would just need to include a designed birthday email for your recipients.

Once everything is in place you can active your automation and it will automatically send to your recipients on their birthday date contact field!

Find our walkthrough of the segment builder here:

And a bit more information on date based information here:

I hope this helps get you started on your automation.

I would like to change the time that my contacts receive their birthday notices. I am in the EST and they would be getting it way too early since it is sent midnight PST. Anyway to change this to a later time?

In your automation workflow, before you put the email in, you will set up a "wait" for a few hours to whatever time you want.

If you think about it like a logic flow, you will have the trigger, which is the date, and that is at midnight pacific.  So then you would set up a delay of, say, 8 hours.  Then you put the mailing in.

That would mean that the mailing would fire at 8am Pacific.

I recorded a video of this setup in my account, if you want to check that out:
