How Does one User become a Primary Contact on more than one Sub-Account?

We have one main account, YMCA of the Triangle, and numerous sub-accounts. We are trying to move toward primary account owners (for longer term potential API reasons) and also using the editor, full and author permission levels.

Currently, we have Managers set on each account. We'd like our current Managers to also be Sub Account Primary Contacts. However, it doesn't seem we can have one user be a primary contact on more than one sub-account.

We can't be the only account with this issue - can someone walk me through how we accomplish this? Thanks.

Hi Liz,

I can hopefully provide some clarity here:

- From a permission stand point, creating a manager would be the solution to a user having access to multiple accounts.

- For a sub account's team, there can only be one primary contact. Once a user is assigned a primary contact they cannot be a user anywhere else as well.

If you wanted to use the same email address on multiple primary accounts you create a variation of the user by adding a + after the email address portion.

An example of my address would be,, or

- API keys are specific to each account regardless. This is because when using our API you are connecting audience or signup data which is specific to the sub.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction.
