How do I create vertical space between objects without also making boxes narrower?

Sometimes I want to create vertical space between boxes--particularly images and text--because everything can look busy, especially with a lot of images. I try to mess with the margins or padding, but they both seem to also change the width of the images or text.

I've also tried just inserting empty text boxes in between things, but when it's sent, those empty spaces are compressed.

Is there a way to space things out vertically? Thanks!

Have you tried adjust the padding on your objects, only on the top and bottom?

If you click the Gear or advanced tab. You'll get options to set all 4 dimensions of margin/padding. Let me know if you need a visual reference to find it.

(HAHA, nice Brandi. As I was typing :p )

yea....I've been working on getting screenshots too of that, but having issues inserting them into my post. :(

The gear icon at the bottom left, click that and you can change the sides individually.
