Hello.
I am using the most recent version of Chrome. I'm afraid my question is very basic, but I need help nonetheless. I recently became in charge of the mailing list for a client, and I realized I don't think I've been adding subscribers properly. I added my email address to the mailing list to test, and I am not receiving the newsletter in my email. It says I have not "confirmed opt in," but I have no idea how to do that. How do I properly add people to the mailing list so that they receive the emails? Thank you!

Hey there! It's not required for an audience member to have confirmed their opt-in status in order for you to send to them, but Emma offers that second layer of opting in to a mailing list for a couple of reasons. First, it allows you to see who your most interested audience members are, and second, it allows you to create a search of people who have confirmed their opt-in status should you feel that you only want to target those individuals with your mailings. Here is a link with some great info on setting up a confirm opt-in mailing.

Have you checked your junk or spam folder to see if the mailing perhaps kicked into there? Also on your recent mailing, is your email address showing as having bounced on the response page or is it noted as having been received?

Thanks!

Good morning! I wanted to check in to see if you're good to go or if you still needed assistance with the opt-in process and your audience.

Thanks!

Hi Tyler! Thanks for the information, and sorry for the delayed response from me! I checked my junk mail and couldn't find it, and I also checked the response page and my address was not in the "bounced" section. Could you possibly give me the basics (or direct me to a list of the basics) for adding email addresses? It's entirely possible that I entered them improperly!

Hello! Sure thing and here are a couple of links with some great information on adding contacts to your Emma audience. The first is importing and the second is adding individually. Hopefully these help, but please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Hi Tyler - I'm having a similar problem.

I have a contact who I've added and her status is "active" but it says she hasn't opted in.

She isn't receiving the mailings and doesn't remember ever receiving an opt in email. Is there any way to generate another opt in email?

Thanks!

Hi Taylor! Your question's a bit different, so I'm creating a new thread for us to talk through this, figure out why she isn't getting your emails and what to do moving forward. We'll research and get back to you! :)
