I need to change who the e-mail is from for just one PROOF/TEST - but keep the default that was set up in the original account.

I have used EMMA for 7 years now and am quite comfortable with the classic editor. I use dreamweaver, and design e-mails for my clients and send them PROOF's - they reply to me and then I go ahead and send it out for them through emma. Most of my clients don't even know about emma.

Here is my issue: in the new editor, when sending the PROOF to my TEST group, the TEST button will not allow me to change who the e-mail is from, and therefore they will get a PROOF from themselves when it should be coming from me (and they need to reply to me - and I afraid they will not understand and be confused by getting an e-mail from themselves). So I skipped that step and went to the final send and was able to change who it was from in the send portion, but that changed the default to my e-mail and name. So now I have to have a separate list of my clients e-mail addresses and make sure I update the "from" section after I send the PROOF. Is there any way to 1) - add a section in the TEST portion to change who the e-mail is from, and/or 2) - add a 'make this the default' button on the 'from' section (and here - I would NOT click it - as is similar in the classic editor) so it remembers the information I originally set the account up with?

There are so many places for errors here for me - I have over 80 accounts and this is making me very nervous and is also quite time consuming! HELP!!!! Please!

I'm so sorry to hear you're hitting roadblocks. It sounds as though it's important your proofs come from your address. Would it be possible for you to send using the default and include a note -- which is possible using the Send Test button -- that they can send feedback to your address?

I'm working to get more information about your two requests: a section on Send Test to edit the RSVP information and a "make this the default" checkbox on Review & Send. The product owner who would have insight here is out of the office, so I hope to have more for you next week.

I agree this is a feature I'd like as well. Sometimes the notes aren't obvious enough when you send the message. A lot of my "testers" don't even notice the notes. They always panic when I send the test message from the main account and not the account it is really going to be sent from.

Hi Brandi, it sounds as though your goal is something a bit different: Above the Rest wants their test proofs to come from them, not their client, while you want the test to come from the client -- Is that right? I'll still get answers about their two requests, but I wanted to check about the RSVP information for how you're sending mailings.

Yea, it may be a little different. We have two email accounts that we send mailings from and there will be more in the future. I don't mind sending test messages from one default account, but that default account needs to be my email address and not either one of the two that I send the mailings out from. Does that make sense?

OK, I think I had it backward: You want your test mailings to show as being from you and not Client A, but the actual mailing when you review and send it to the audience will show as being from Client A?

yes that's one way that will work for me.

The other way would be the ability to type in Client A in the test form, and even better, have that link to the review and send!

BUT I'd be very content with just being able to send it from me from the test option.

Hey all, thanks for your patience! I chatted with some product owners, and we're looking at how to add more options in test sends, like the from name and from email address, so you can edit those RSVP details for your testing purposes. I'm going to mark this as Under Consideration for now, and keep the great feedback coming!

Last week I asked a similar question of emma specialist Rachel, and she directed me here.
I prepare mailings for several staff members. When I test their campaign with the other staff, the suggestions come back to me instead of the writer. Once in a while this results in an awkward exchange because they didn't pay attention to who they were responding to (even with a note at the top).

It would be useful to be able to change the "From" email address on tests, in the same way it can be changed on the actual send.

Thank you. Joe

Agreed -- it would be helpful to control the FROM fields for test mailings.

Agreed! In our case, it seems to send a default test message to the account's default "from" email address. We'd prefer the sales director (who is the default "from" email address for sending) not receive every test iteration along the way!

Hi there! I want to make sure I’m following: If your from address is set up to be test@company.com, and you send a test mailing to bob@company.com and sally@company,com, are you saying that a test mailing is also sent to test@company.com, even though you didn’t select them in the Send Test popup?

I just realized this is an issue, for some reason. I have two different templates that go out to two different people's client lists, but the test messages look to be coming from the same person. Each template is set up to come from different addresses on the actual send, but the guy who gets test messages that look like they come from his partner is a bit disconcerted.

Is there a timeline on this? Being able to pick the "From" name and address on the test message so just as you can for the actual send would be fantastic.

Hi Julie! I'm curious if the recipient has the email address saved in a certain way in his email account. For example, let's say I have the address info@company.com saved in my email account's contact list as Sally Forth. If you use info@company.com as your from address and Bob Smith as your from name, your email will come to be as being from Sally Forth -- My email account's settings override the from name you use. Might that be it?

There isn't a timeline for the idea we're chatting about here, but I'll keep you updated with any changes.

No, the test messages go out from the account's default email and name. Actual messages can go out from any name/email, which you can adjust before you send. My issue is that this particular account has two people who send emails. One is the default name/email listed. Each individual has an email template, and when messages go out they go out from the correct individual.

Test messages, though, all go out from the default name/email in the account settings.

Ah, OK, so you're looking to change the from name and from email address when you select Send Test so that it doesn't have to be the name and email listed for the account? I think I've got it now. :) I just wanted to make sure you're in the right place, and you are. I'll keep you updated here as we move closer to implementing this!

Correct. So the recipient can see what it will look like in the inbox when it actually goes out (obviously not including the [TEST] designation. :)

Hi! I'm glad to hear you're excited about this feature. It's available for many of our accounts but not for all, which is why I haven't updated the status here. Many of our features are tied together so that they're released at once. This feature, being able to change the sender info from the Send Test bar, is packaged with a slightly updated app look and our new Automation product.

Your account is an agency setup, so if we turn on the above tools, that turns it on for all of your sub-accounts. We're planning to release the above for all agency accounts in a little less than two weeks. I'm glad to get this turned on early for your accounts; would you like access now?

Hello! There's no need to call, too, since you reach the same folks in Emma Community as you do by calling. :) Do you mind sharing a screenshot with me showing where you are in your account? When you say you're having trouble setting up a test, what exactly doesn't seem to be working right?
