If an Excel spreadsheet has email addresses that are actual hyperlinks - will they work okay in Emma? Or should the hyperlinks be removed?

I would definitely advise against using hyperlinks in the spreadsheets you are importing into Emma. The presence of that code within the cell could be enough to cause some errors when running your import.

The ideal spreadsheet will be comprised entirely of plaintext to ensure that no formatting is coming through. You'll have a much smoother and consistent import experience if you keep the data in simple, unformatted text. Something I frequently do is copy all from a spreadsheet, open a new blank sheet, and then use paste special to paste "values". This will paste the data from your original sheet in plaintext.

I hope this information is helpful! Let me know if there is anything else I can shine some light on.
