Is it possible to cancel a campaign within a few minutes of sending it?

We are just getting started with Emma. Is there any lag time between when you hit "send" and when an email campaign truly starts sending?

We typically send campaigns immediately instead of scheduling them for later. On occasion, we have needed to stop/recall a campaign (such as an emergency road closure alert that was resolved faster than expected), which was possible to do with our previous email service provider as long as we caught it within a minute or two, before it actually began sending.

Is something similar possible with Emma, or is irreversible once you hit "send"?

When you send a mailing in Emma (whether by hitting send or scheduling it), Emma takes a short bit of time (often just a few seconds) to prepare the mailing before heading out the door. During this brief window, there is a pause option for the mailing. You can access it by going to your Response tab and clicking the down arrow to the right of the mailing. If you don't see the pause option, Emma has already sent the mailing and it cannot be stopped.

Because our sending system works so fast, most smaller mailings can't be paused at all (as they've already been sent by the time you get to the Response section). For larger mailings, you may be able to pause them and stop a portion of the audience from receiving the mailing (though even larger mailings are often sent before you have the chance to pause them).

Since we send mailings so quickly, I recommend treating hitting the send button as the point of no return.
