Is it possible to link an anchor to a photo? We are trying to create "Jump Buttons" instead of having just a link.

Hey Erika! That is a great question, but there currently is not a way to perform this in the Emma app. I am checking with our design team though to see if they would have the ability to setup a template with hard coded “jump buttons” to function as an anchor. I’ll be sure to give you a shout once I hear back from them.

Thanks!

Good afternoon Erika! I heard back from our design team and although technically (in a design aspect) this is possible, apparently hard coding jump buttons (images) to function as an anchor causes some errors in the drag and drop editor. With this being said, currently this would not be a viable option, but could perhaps become an option in the future.

I wish I had better news, but please let me know if I can assist further.

It's only been four weeks, but has this issue been updated? We're redesigning our newsletter and would love to link photos at the top to anchors in the newsletter. Seems rather simple, but something we took for granted with our old email application

Hi Trevor! There hasn’t been an update, but I’m checking in with our developers to see if this is a capability we might build down the road.

Hello again. :) The Editor Team is working on changing image link options, and they’re going to try to fit this in, too. It’ll likely be done at the end of the year, but I’ll keep you posted here with any changes to that timeframe.

I, too am very interested in this. I'm just starting with Emma (my previous employers having used Constant Contact and MailChimp). I will soon be trying to do something similar with an e-publication. I want to use photos across the top of the publication to jump to the stories below (and have "back to top" buttons in each story content block). Until I just saw this post, I would not have thought that would be a problem. Now I'm scratching my head on my whole e-pub design. So definitely keep me posted! Thanks.

I hear you! This would be a really cool feature, and I have to tell you it’s so helpful to hear your specific use case. I’ll keep you updated in this conversation about our progress. :)

Instead of starting a whole new thread, I thought I'd chime in here and say that we are very interested in this option, too. We use jpegs as our sections headers and I would love to be able to make those anchors. I have a "contents" box at the top left that I use to jump to those headers, but right now have to throw an anchor right before the jpeg or right after, which causes some visual problems. I would love hear when this update happens. Thanks!

This would be so helpful for us as well. We really need the ability to make a nice looking and functional "Table of Contents" for our emails... with anchors that can be placed on photos as well as text. It's been 2 years since anyone has commented -- has this been addressed and I'm just missing how to do it? Thank you!

I would like to echo everyone's request on this thread to have the capability of linking a button or image to a document housed in the Emma library. Please let me know once this is available. Thanks!

Hey there CalArts,

What you're looking to do is actually already possible in Emma!

You just need to open up the Document library on the Campaigns page, load your document in there, click the arrow to the right of the document and choose "copy this document URL"... then you can paste that URL into a button or image link!

Also, Land Trust For Tennessee,

We currently still don't have the ability to set up Anchor links in an image, only in text. But I'll be sure to keep you guys updated here if we do wind up adding that functionality!

Cheers!

Hi Grey,

It would be great if you added that functionality. It's a really basic feature that Emma should have built in. It'd be nice to create a table of contents with image anchor links.

Hey there!   I'll go ahead and add you in to the request.

As far as I know, it's not on the road map any time soon, and would likely be considered as part of any larger overhaul of the editor that comes.  Anchors are a bit of a touchy subject as there are certain environments that they simply don't work in certain email platforms, including most mobile email software. So it becomes hard to even really recommend their use, especially as mobile opens have been surpassing desktop opens in current years.

That being said, certainly the more requests we get, the more of a priority it becomes for us!
