Is there a way to send read receipt requests for the recipients of a MyEmma campaign?

(Read Receipts?) The organization I work with uses MyEmma to e-mail its employees. We have recently started sending out campaigns as a part of a new training program and have been tracking who has opened and not opened the mailings (via an ad hoc spreadsheet as MyEmma cannot yet do this...). Several employees have complained they are opening their emails but still show up on our list of “did not opens”. Is there a way for them to prompt them with read receipts requests?

Good morning! There wouldn't be a way to fire a "read receipt", but these folks who are reporting they did indeed open it and not showing as having opened on your response page, do you know if they have images blocked in their inbox? The reason I ask is emails are counted as opened when the images are downloaded from our server, which is the industry standard for tracking emails. This means that if the images are downloaded in a preview pane (or viewed in entirety in the whole mailing), then this will count as an open. If someone has images blocked however, that will not be counted as an open. In that case, those people would be counted only if they either loaded their images or clicked on a link in the mailing. And if someone views the plaintext-only version of your mailing (for example, from a Blackberry), it'll only be counted as opened if they visit a link in the mailing.

Hopefully this helps explain things a bit, but please let me know if you have any questions.

Mail doesn't support read receipts unfortunately. Are you a Gmail user? If so you can use 3rd party email tracking services. They're much better than a read receipt. The recipient of your email doesn't need to acknowledge the read receipt. The tracking just happens in the background.

You can check out ContactMonkey and Boomerang. ContactMonkey is stealthy email tracking for Gmail whereas Boomerang offers a traditional read receipt. They both have free options.

 Hope that helps!
