Managing Active Users

I am trying to manage the number of active users we have. I control at the agency level covering two sub accounts. Even after adding up the total number of active users we have in groups across both sub accounts I still can't find the total number of active contacts Emma displays. (I count 10,675 versus 13,400+ from Emma).

I'm curious if it's possible to have active contacts that are not associated with groups. If so, is there a way to identify them to either add them to groups or purge them from our account?

I have so far been unable to find a way to do this using the Audience section of our account.

There is a way that you can have users in the accounts that are not attached to a group. To find them you need to create a Limbo Segment:

Go to Audience
Go to the Segment tab to the right of the Groups tab
Click on the far right the Create a new Segment button
Name your Segment
Find contacts based on - choose Audience groups in the dropdown
Select Contacts in (the first dropdown will say this already) and choose Limbo (not in any group) in the second dropdown
Click Add
Click Save

Review the list and be sure that the people should be deleted, or copy them to groups as appropriate.

Let me know if you have any questions along the way
