Probably already in the works, but much like you guys have done with the image blocks. Would love to be able to do columns WITHIN text blocks. Very useful for contact info, locations, etc.

Hi Marc! I think what you’re wanting is already possible, if I’m correctly understanding your goal. Here’s what my mailing looks like when I have Equal Columns selected as my Column choice and then Both Rows selected as my Rows choice:

See how the two columns have one row above and below? Is that what you’re looking to do? Here’s more about rows from our Resource Center.

Keep me posted!

That's in the full editor. I mean in a text block itself. Float left, float right type of thing.

Are you using an HTML block or a regular text box? With columns and rows, you can achieve the look of having content floating side by side like this.

Or are you looking for something like tables where you could remove the table’s borders?

The tables route would be an alright fix, if we could remove the borders and the 100% width worked for Outlook. ;)

"I" can do it in HTML, yeah. But trying to make it lamen friendly for our end users.

Can't use Columns/Rows because I want the layout to be One Column.

What I'm saying is how you guys implemented the multiple image block... do that with text. So a multi text block, I want... "3 columns" []  []  []

That make sense?

Thanks, Marc! I checked in with our Editor Team, and while we do have this in our backlog, it was put on the back-burner when we released the rows feature. We’re still considering it, but since we aren’t working on it at this moment, I’m marking this as Under Consideration.

That would be great! Rows are nice, but it's very limited in placement options. The text blocks are freeform. Development wise, you're already 85% of the way there, just duplicate the multi image block and strip out everything but the captions. =]

In the interim, I wanted to show off my work around I created. I'm using a 260 x 1 pixel transparent png image to act as a very minimal placeholder in the multi images block, and use the captions for each as such. This works well as the image will shrink to fit also for 3+ columns. Hope it helps some of you that have been seeking the same thing as myself for the time being.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Needed: One template with multi column and single column editable regions..

Can I only add one layout style per template in Emma? Template Builder only allows one flexible template region and it looks like within the drag & drop editor  each mailing must be all one column or all two column etc. I need to provide a template with the ability to  edit a two column region , one column main copy and   five or six  td  bar listing resources with icons.

Hi! There isn't any news here. This is still in our backlog and we're thinking through its functionality, while enhancements to the drag & drop editor will likely slow down the next couple quarters as we pursue other app features. Not forgotten, though!

I would like to see this happen, too! We often need to create a checklist of about 12 items, and rather than having a list of 12, it'd be great if we could have 3 columns of 4! Please pull this out of the backlog and work on it when you can. Thank you!

I agree; I'd like to have a list of dates in a column and the a list of the events for those dates in the second column all within the text block. Please make this happen!!!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Idea: Three Column Text integration.

Ability to DnD a text box that allows three columns of a text box within any template - just as you can with images.

Yes, the current columns are actually very limiting.  I'd like to be able to break only certain sections into columns but leave the majority one column.  Use cases: Image next to text and a button.  Currently you cannot add a button to an existing block so it screws the alignment up adding it as a separate block altogether.  Or you could also please make the feature possible: adding buttons to existing text or image blocks.

Thanks for sharing this use case! I've added it to the feature request we have for more expansive column and content block functionality. :)

Just chiming in...9 months later...seems like plenty of time to "birth" this feature!?!? Any word on the function of creating columns within a text block (not the whole email)..

thanks!

Hey there!

As far as I know, we haven't actually put this idea into production yet.  Meaning that it's still on the list of possibilities for future updates, but we aren't actively working on it right now.

I'll be happy to add you to the list of requestors for this though!

Hello... just wanted to add my vote. I would love to be able to (as mentioned earlier) be able to break only certain sections into columns but leave the majority one column. Thank you.

Hi, how do you create multiple columns within an individual text box? I know how to create columns for an entire email but I only want columns for one section of the email.

Also looking for this ability. Sad to see that in two years, it still is not available. Put me down as "want that!"  ;)

Me, too! Me, too!

Related: Is there a place where users can see what is on the docket for features, along with timelines? I have a client who really wants to see the multi-column text boxes implemented and I would like to be able to pass on any information as to when it may become a reality, as well as inform my client about new upcoming features.

Hey there!  I've got you added in for this request!

We actually don't have a roadmap of sorts, though I do like that idea and we've discussed giving you guys some visibility into what we've got coming forward.  I'm not sure what that looks like right now, but I'll add that in to your request as well.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

I just upgraded my account to an enterprise account.  The template design was to include three text boxes under three pictures (all in a row).  I was told that was doable.  Im now seeing this 2 year exchange.  I would like to do a little more than just ask that I be put on a list.  I think this is something I was lead to believe was an option.  Can you please address.  Thanks

Hey there Wiley Real Estate, welcome!

What you've described there can be done in two ways in the editor.  I recorded some videos to show you:

USING AN IMAGES BLOCK AND TURNING ON CAPTIONS

or

TURNING ON THE 3 COLUMN LAYOUT and using Image blocks and either text blocks or captions.

If those don't work for setting up what you're trying to do, let me know and we'll take a look!
