Multiple emails per contact (for groups that volunteer)

I'd prefer to have more than one email address associated with a contact entry (for example, volunteer groups that have multiple leaders). It seems this isn't possible. is an upgrade planned?

Hey there!

The email address field is the unique contact identifier within Emma and that is the reason that each contact record may only have 1 main email address.  You can certainly create additional contact fields for other email addresses but Emma will only be able to send the main email address that is associated with the contact identifier.  You can create additional contact records for those other email addresses if you need to send campaigns to all email addresses for each contact.  For example, you can have a contact record for and create a second record for

I already have active contacts in my audience with multiple emails (currently separated by semi colons). Will My Emma send to all the emails listed (one of my contacts, for instance, has three email addresses associated all separated by semi-colons) or only the first email address in the list?

Just to add to this, we also have this need for multiple email addresses within on contact record. I just spoke with a great Emma support rep who said that unfortunately this wasn't possible.  We have a need for this because we send emails to two or more people in a household.  While they are all on our list, we'd want them all on one email.  (Just to note- we already have lists that use multiple names per each single email address so for example, John and Mary each have their own email address. We already write to John and have their name set as 'John & Mary' and for Mary's email address we already have 'Mary & John'.) What we'd like to do is to be able to include two (or more) email addresses for one name. That way both contacts could see in one email that they received it. It isn't any different than sending an email in a normal email client like Outlook or Gmail. If I wanted to send an email, but have someone else know I was sending it, I'd cc them, or include them in the 'to' field. Why can't this be done in bulk email?

And, just thinking this through, if you did allow this multiple email addresses per one contact feature in your contact forms, how would it affect open rates?
