I'm creating new segments and have been trying to upload new contacts into a group and no matter what the file is saved as (.xls and .xlsx) I keep getting an error. I have even tried different emails in the upload, saving the excel sheet as different names, and uploading it to different groups and nothing is working.

Have you tried uploading it as a CSV file?

Yea...definitely an emma issue then.  Have you tried clearing your browser's cache? They tell me to do that a lot when I have issues.  Sometimes doing that and restarting your computer works. Good luck.

Hey there! Can you please upload the Excel file to your document library? I'll then jump in there to take a look and see what the trouble could be.

Thanks!

Thank you! I just jumped in there and was able to import with no trouble. On the step where you're mapping your member fields, did you check the little box to skip the header row? If you have headers in your Excel file you'll always to check to skip that row since it isn't data that is being imported to Emma. That's the only thing I could think of that may have been causing that error.  I imported that file to a group called Emma Testing.

Hopefully this helps, but please let me know if I can assist further.
