I need to see the confirmed status of audience members, preferably with the opt-in date, in the Excel export file.  I need to cross-reference with my CRM to show support of Cdn Anti-Spam Legislation requirements.

Hi Bill! It sounds as though you’ve created an opt-in confirmation mailing, and you want the “confirmed opt-in” field to be exportable; is that right?

I don’t know which CRM you’re using, but you could export your list of those who have confirmed opt-in and import them into your CRM to flag them as having confirmed opt-in. Would that work for your needs?

No, I want it in the standard audience export that generates an Excel file.

I set up a segment as you suggested and was even able to limit it to the audiences I was interested in - nice.  But, when I export the segment, it uses the same column layout as an audience export - there's no column for the opt-in confirm field.

Plus, what I need to add to my CRM (salesforce), is the date of the opt-in, not just the fact that they opted in.  Any opt-ins after Jul 1/14 may have to be renewed every 2-3 years, so I need to track dates.

I know I could open every contact record in the segment to look at the opt-in confirm date, but that's really time-consuming.  That's why it would be easier for me if it was in the audience export.  And not just a true/false value, but the actual date.

Oh, you definitely shouldn’t open each contact’s record. What a headache that would be! I’m checking in with our product team to see if this is an exportable field we’re looking to include.

I also want to note that it’s Emma’s policy that the people you send to are those you’ve done business with in the past 18 months, so you’ll need to periodically be cleaning up your audience list regardless of the CASL law to be in compliance with Emma. You can read more about our policies here.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your feedback. Technically, this is something we could add to the export data. Timing of doing this work is a bit less concrete as we have a lot in motion on our product roadmap. We're going to mark this as "under consideration" and we'll be on the lookout if there's an opportunity to get this included for you.

Best,
David
