Opt-out, manage , etc links in a custom email sent from my website?

I want to send an email from my website (rather than from Emma).

I want to include the following usual stuff in the footer of the email:

- Manage preferences link

- opt-out link

Is it possible, technically, to put these links in an email which is not generated by Emma?

What parameters are included in the URL's of the links? Are they unique to each email and/or member? Or is it done simply by account ID, or at worst, group ID?

Hey there, thanks for reaching out!

So, the links that are used in our mailings for manage preferences and opt-out are what we call PURLs (or, personalized URLs), which means that the links are generated when the email is sent and each link for each person is different (hence, personalized).

That being said, there are a few things you could look at.

A. The mange preferences link is typically a slightly different version of the Classic signup form associated with the mailing, with the subscribers' information pre-filled out.  If you wanted to set up an external link to a mange preferences form, you could just link out directly to a Classic signup form, and when they fill out their information, if they're already a subscriber it will simply update their records.

B. As far as opt-out, you would need to set up a link that would be trackable back to the email address wherein, a few days after the send, you could upload that list into Emma and manually opt them out.

C. Depending on how tech-savvy you are, our open API allows you to be able to build forms and control your member's status, group assignments, etc from anywhere.  The API is a self-service tool, and you can find all of the documentation you'd need for it HERE ON OUR RESOURCE CENTER. If you needed help building a form, we do have a tech services team that can put something together for you as well.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!
