Please bring back the ability to edit and resend a previously sent campaign. This is so frustrating to keep making multiple copies of the the same thing.

Hi there Leigh,

In the redesign that option wasn't included because we wound up having complaints and confusion over lost content from older mailings being edited after send and not being able to recover the original version.  We decided it was simpler to always keep the sent versions of the mailings as they are and create new copies instead each time.

I have gone ahead and put in a request to our product team on your behalf for this feature to come back.  I also wanted to see if I could get a little more clarity as to where the pain point is for you in this process to see if there might be a different resolution.

Is it that you're just not liking to have a lot of copies of mailings in your Sent folder?

Are these mailings that you send on a regular enough basis that it might be better to use the "Save As Template" option to have a default version of the mailing instead of having to comb through sent mailings?

Is there a particular reason that you are needing to create copies of sent mailings to make changes and send again?  Perhaps that process could be avoided altogether using PERSONALIZATION to allow you to send out a single mailing to multiple audiences and have the information feed into the mailing dynamically?

If you wouldn't mind expounding a bit more on your process here, I'd love to try and find a way to simplify your workflow in general and save you time and hassle!

Cheers!

There are really two points of pain.  The first one is that we often have an initial "send" but need to send the same email as we add people to the group.  For example, as we get closer to our orientation session, more people are being admitted and we want to be able to send the same invitation over and over as more people are admitted.  Having 10 copies of the initial invitation is maddening.
The point of pain that prompted this particular request is that I simply wanted to add some information to an email that had already been sent, but because I can't go back and edit them,  I have to keep making copies and then we get confused about which one is the "real" one to duplicate if we need to send it again.  Our work flow was smoother when we could continue to use the same campaign.
I don't see an option to save a campaign as a template, so I'm not sure what that means.  We have templates for the design portion already.  It's more an issue of content.
Thanks!

Thanks Leigh!

That helps me narrow down your use-case a bit.  I can certainly see how that could be frustrating!  I don't want you to think that I'm brushing off your request, and I've already got that turned in.  I did want to suggest a couple of things:

1. The "Save As Template" option is in the editor.  Clicking the arrow beside "SAVE" will give you the option to "Save As Template" .  That looks like this:

That would save a version that would pop up as an option when you click "Create A New Mailing" from the Campaigns screen.

2. When it comes to "versioning", and keeping up with the changes you've made to particular versions of mailings, we like to suggest changing the name of the mailing to something that you're able to identity, "Mailing", "Mailing with new phone number", "Mailing 2/23", "Mailing v3", etc.  Any way for you to be able to ID the mailing without having to open a new copy and see it.

Hopefully those tools will be able to make your life a bit easier in the meanwhile.

If our product team does decide to bring that functionality back, I'll post back on this topic and let you know.

For anyone else that's interested in bringing this back, let us know in the comments and I'll add you in to the request!
