Our Product Team released some work around the importing process that we hope will make importing your lists simpler, faster and more foolproof! Please be sure to clear your browser's cache & cookies to see these updates in your account!

+ New and improved
  • You can now drag your import files into the importing modal, or browse for the file by clicking the Choose file button.

  • To help you get a head start on mapping your fields, we're automatically running the "Guess" function when you move to the field mapping stage of importing.
  • We're using some fancy logic to anticipate if your file has a header row and will pre-check the ignore row box for that header row in most cases.
  • If you get to the field mapping stage and realize that you need to create a new field, the Manage fields button will be accessible from that page.

+ Bugs Fixed
As part of this release, we've resolved several import-related bugs:
  • Imports were failing when mapping to a field with shortcut name of "id".
  • Imports were failing for invalid entries.
We've also cleared up a few issues with the drag & drop Template Builder:
  • Saving your template in code view of template builder was removing inline css. 
  • Using save as template in the editor or creating a template in HTML view of the drag & drop Template Builder resulted in duplicated content in the template sidebar.

Hi Emily,

Since this update we have not been able to import contacts on to EMMA!

This is rather frustrating as we have an e-shot waiting to go out that we cant send!

Please can this be sorted.

Hey there -- I hate to hear that you're having trouble importing! This release does require you to clear the cache & cookies in your browser to see the changes and in some cases it's necessary to proceed with your import. Have you already tried that? If so, please let me know which sub-account you're importing to and add the spreadsheet to the document library in that account so that I can take a look. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. I have cleared my cache and cookies. Is there a preferred browser?Are we going to have to do this (clearing) every time we update our subscribers? It may not be worth the effort to us.

Hello! Clearing cache and cookies should have done it. I did work with someone who had only cleared them for the past day, so make sure you are clearing since the beginning of time. I use Chrome here, but I have folks that have used Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox clear cache and pull in the updated import tool. You don't have to clear it every time, but in general, clearing your cache every once in a while (heavy internet users once ever two weeks - lighter internet users once a month) will keep your browser - whatever your browser - working well for any webpage. Let me know if you need help with clearing your cache. I am happy to help with that.
