Response View Showing Impossibly High Number of Shares

We sent out our Holiday e-Card last week - a mailing which each year receives an average/mediocre response.  Like all of our emails, our "Share" numbers might be 1-2, but are usually "0".  Last week's holiday card however is indicating exactly 500-shares split almost perfectly among the 4 options - screenshot below.  These even sums are not a coincidental balance resulting from the 15,000 recipients sharing via 1-2 of the options.  Instead - approximately 125 users allegedly shared this through all 4 of the options available (with slight exception).
It seems like a safe bet that there was a glitch somewhere in the process.  However, I can not determine how or why.   Would there be any explanation for this?  Others on this end are doing the happy dance and are ready to classify this group as an "ultra-red-hot" segment with a sudden overwhelming interest in our emails.

Hi there,

I'd love to take a look at those responses! Could you please provide me with the sub account you sent the mailing from and the name of the mailing? I'll be sure to take a look!

Thanks so much,

Thanks so much for that information!

I took a look at the response on that mailing, and it does seem a little odd. I'm going to pass on the information to our team to see if there is a glitch that happened there or if they have any further information for us! I'll be in touch as soon as I hear back from them.

Have a great New Year, and we'll be in touch!

I have had the same issue with my campaigns. It appears to be isolated to a group of people with the same email account.

Hi there,

Would you be able to send me the name of the mailing you're referring to? And also the group of people would be great!

Look at the January 2018 Newsletter sent to the Master List group. You will notice accounts with an @govalor.com email address always appear in my share stats

Great, thank you for that!

I sent your response info to our team to look into, and what seems to be going on is that the firewall for @govalor.com is clicking through all of the links in the email for security reasons. When these links are clicked, it inflates the shares, which is the response rate you're seeing!

Hope this helps clarify, please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi there,

Thanks for your patience!

Our engineering team has looked into your case and the social share numbers and they are able to confirm that there isn't an error in the reporting there. On the backend it shows 246 Twitter shares, 241 for Facebook, 248 email, 250 LinkedIn. He explained that the 500 number is being displayed due to that being the default max page size of the backend information.

He was able to verify that this social share information is all correct. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I am having the same issue.  I don't recall ever getting more than 5 shares, but on our last two campaigns there are over 100.  I am skeptical.  Is there any way to view how it was shared?

Hi!

You can see the specific details of those shares including network details by clicking on the shares tab on the response page for any mailing. From there, you can sort by social network or by name or email address.

Let me know if you have any additional questions. - Thanks!
