Salesforce integration - error messages

We are integrating Emma with Salesforce but haven't started the sync yet. We received an error message that we don't understand so my first question is whether there is a list of error messages and what they mean. For the specifics, I'm adding a photo of the error screen to this post. The Error Method is: removeMembersfromGroups, the message is: Unable to serialize a map with a null key.

Hi there!

We currently do not have a resource that covers the error messages that one would see when working with the Emma for Salesforce integration. Some of the most commonly reported issues are covered in our Emma for Salesforce FAQs article, but the high amount of variables make it difficult for us to document every error that could occur.

For your specific error, I first want to make sure that you are running with the most up-to-date version of the integration. I did a quick check, and you are currently working with version 2.51. We are several versions past that, so let's have you re-install the integration before we troubleshoot further. Here is the link to the installation guide in case you don't have it handy.

Let me know if the update has eliminated that error message or if we need to continue looking into this!

Thanks for your reply. I updated the version of the integration and started to sync. I've gotten a number of error messages. What is the best way to get help with them?

The best way to get help with any Salesforce issues that you are having is to reach out to the Support team (either here or via email at 

To be most efficient in helping you out, if you could do the following:

1. Include your Salesforce Org Name (if it's different from your Emma account name)
2. Include DETAILED steps on how to trigger the error message, including screenshots if possible.
3. Grant Emma SUPPORT ACCESS into your SF Account so that we can do any necessary testing.  (click THIS LINK for instructions)
