Group and Segment columns- can you add opt-in status?

In the group and also the segment results can you add in opt-in (confirmed or not confirmed) as one of the columns that displays? Being able to view this data there would help understand who has confirmed opt-in and who hasn't for compliance with GDPR and CASL.

Hello,

Joshua from Emma support here! That is certainly a great idea, and I would love to get that passed on to our product team as a Feature Request. 

While I submit this, I wanted to point you in the direction of a tab, inside both the group and segment, that houses those opt out contacts. Under the tab that is labeled as "Opt-Out", that will house all contacts that are in the status of Opt-Out. That tab is available in your overall contact view, in specific groups and in specific segments.

Thanks Joshua for passing this on to the product team as a Feature Request. It would be really helpful to have opt-in (confirmed or not confirmed) as a field that can be viewed on the group and segment results views.

Being able to see if someone has opted-out is a different topic. This is about seeing whether or not people have confirmed opt-in (which is necessary for both CASL and GDPR) instead of having to click through to their individual records, or doing a segment with confirmed opt-in being empty or not empty.

I understand that completely, and you're right, it's two completely different things!

I've gone ahead and submitted that and we'll watch to see when they are able to implement it! I know it's vitally important to be compliant with CASL and GDPR, so I'll let you know when we are able to get that implemented.

Is there any update on what is being done to ensure GDPR compliance via My Emma and the timescales for us to implement it prior to the deadline in May?

Hi Grey, while that explains what GDPR is and what needs to be done, there is no information on how we can implement it with the My Emma system. We need to be contacting our mailing lists now and ideally need a double opt-in process to ensure compliance. We need to know how this can physically be carried out using My Emma and how we can see the status each individual on our mailing list and how these records can be kept and managed as required.

Hey there!   If you're looking to use our opt-in confirmation, this article should give you everything you need to get that sent out and how it functions in Emma:

Then you would use our segment builder to look for contacts who have confirmed their opt-in.  For info on how to use the segment builder, you can check out this article:

This is not what I was asking for. I know how to build a segment to show people who have opted-in and I know how to send an opt-in email.

I was asking for the functionality of being able to see opt in  as one of the columns that displays in the group In the group and also the segment results without having to go in each individual subscriber record.
