I am using MindBody integration
I set up a segment based on the following:
where field where field Last Sale Description contains "intro ninja membership"Last Sale Description contains "intro ninja membership"

it was my understanding that segments will auto-update, so when a new member is added to my mind body account and then gets added to my mindbody group in myemma, then those new clients who have a last sales desription containing "intro ninja membership" will automatically be added to the segment

is that correct?

and then i should be able to start an automation for that segment that each time a new member is added to that segment they could get a special welcome email, correct?

if my assumptions are wrong, how do i go about doing this? is this handled better through the custom api event
such that the field Last Sale Description equals intro ninja membership

thanks for any guideance

Hi Bruce,

You are correct about the first portion of this - if a user is added to your Mindbody group who meets the segment criteria, that user will also be added to the segment in your Emma audience.

If you want to use automation, however, the triggers available are date-based or field change. So, simply being added to a segment would not trigger an automated workflow.

Here is some more information about automation with Mindbody: Emma for Mindbody: Automation

The best option in your case sounds like it may be using a date-based trigger. Keep in mind that you'll want to set the first email to go out 2-3 days after the date in your field to allow the proper amount of time for the sync with Emma.

Hope this helps!
