In one on my sign up forms I have modified the Confirmation email with new verbiage.  When I am testing the form; it still sends the original (old) version for the confirmation email. What am I missing?
Thank you!

Good afternoon! It sounds like you're taking all the right steps to update that confirmation email verbiage. I'm assuming it's the signup form "new signup 052214" Could you please let me know the verbiage which you're attempting to save and I can do some testing here.

Thanks!

Good morning! Thanks for the information and that is the exact verbiage I'm seeing displayed in your Emma account on the confirm it tab. I tested the form just taking the link from the publish page and pasting that into a new browser window. The form worked great and the confirmation message came through shortly after with all of the same text that is appearing in the editor. Is this form posted on your website someplace? Perhaps an old form is still being used there.

Thanks again!

Tyler,
I am using the API to sign up the member (POST /#account_id/members/signup) and am passing the signup_form_id = 1763101

Will the API trigger the confirmation for the given form?

Thank you!
WL.

Hey there! That will trigger the confirmation for a given form and you can also override the confirmation message with your own content if you'd like. Here are those parameters
  • opt_in_subject (string) – Optional. Override the confirmation message subject with your own copy.
  • opt_in_message (string) – Optional. Override the confirmation message body with your own copy. Must include the following tags: [rsvp_name], [rsvp_email], [opt_in_url], [opt_out_url].
Please let me know if I can assist further.

Hi Tyler,
Not sure if I am still missing something, but the API is not sending the confirmation setup for the given form.  I will give a try using the opt_in_subject and opt_in_message parameters.
Thank you
WL.

Does the opt_in_message accept html format?

Hi there!
I am still having issues with the customized confirmation email when the user signs up. I am using the API to sign up the users. Currently I have set my signup form for not to send the confirmation email but I still receive an email with this subject

"Confirming your subscription to the BarCharts Publishing email list"

And this body:
Thanks for joining the BarCharts Publishing email list!
To confirm your subscription, please click this link or paste
it into your browser:
https://app.e2ma.net/app2/audience/opt_in/confirm/1735671/454813687?v=a

To ensure proper delivery of our future emails, take a moment now
and add our email address - marketing@barcharts.com - to your address book,
trusted sender list, or company white list.

If you do not wish to receive our emails, or this email has
reached you in error, please click or copy and paste this link
in your browser window to remove yourself from our list:
http://t.e2ma.net/signup/optout/djhbb/tri2sh?r=aHR0cHM6Ly9hcHAuZTJtYS5uZXQvYXBwMi9hdWRpZW5jZS9vcHRfb...

I don't find this email either under my "Campaigns" or "Sign up" form's confirmation.

Please advise me where this email is, so I can either modify it or deactivate it.

Thank you!!!
WL.

Good morning! So that signup call POST /#account_id/members/signup does indeed include a default confirm it message as you're running into now. There is an option to override that messages content and subject line with these parameters

However, I would not know how to code this specifically. The API is an expert feature which we provide the documentation for, but don't offer support as we leave the coding up to the experts such as yourself :-)

Another option would be using the call POST /#account_id/members/add which will add those members and there is no default confirm it message which fires. You would then just need to setup a trigger (autoresponder) with the messaging you'd like. Here is a link with additional information on setting up those triggers.

Hopefully this helps get you moving in the right direction!

Thanks!
