Please sort custom fields by name. This applies to Contact view as well as dropdown menus, etc.

Right now the sorting seems completely random.

Hi Joel! When you say you want to sort custom fields by name, do you mean you want to see these fields in alphabetical order on your signup form? I think a signup form is where your screenshot is from, but I'm not positive.

Or, do you mean that when you're looking at your audience contacts, you want to sort the list by their first name? That, you can do: Hop into any group, click the Change column display button and select to add the first name field to your display.

Then, click the little arrow next to that field's name, and you can sort your list by your contacts' first names.

I'll be on the lookout for your reply!

Hi Katie,

My screenshot isn't from the signup form. It's from viewing a contact's information from the Audience section inside MyEmma. But the sorting should also apply to, for example, dropdown menus when creating/editing segments, picking the field in Automation Workflows, etc.

Ah, thanks, Joel! It helps to know now where in the Emma app you are. I understand that it would help to sort your fields differently. To be clear, you're wanting to sort alphabetically, right? I want to be sure I'm understanding correctly that the order in which you want your fields to appear is:

Birthday
Country
Emails
First name
Hash code
Last name
Number of purchases
Preferred format
Promo code acquisition active
Promo code acquisition at loss
Promo code acquisition at risk
Registration date
Segment number
User id
User name

That's correct. That'd make fields easier to find, especially in dropdown menus. I'm starting to build a large number of automation workflow emails triggered on custom fields, so it would help greatly to be able easily find the field I'm looking for.

I wouldn't mind if non-custom fields (first name, last name, etc) are placed at the top of the list, followed by all the custom fields sorted alphabetically.

Hi there! I spoke with our Product Team, and we're still working out how our new Audience design will function. There are loads of details to finesse in this project, and I'm so glad you shared this. I'm not sure if this will be part of our initial Audience release, yet it's definitely high up on the list of things we'd like to improve. Thanks, Joel!
