New special characters for the drag & drop editor

How 'bout some new special characters? It would be cool to have some nice bullet-point-type bold dots, arrows, circles, triangles, etc. like we might find in the common Wingdings or similar typefont lists. The ones you have are not very commonly used or needed, I'd think, although I'm sure some of them are very handy for many of us...

Hi! Do you mind sharing how you'd use those characters? The editor's toolbar (and special characters) are pulled in from Aviary, so they're something we don't have control over, but I can pass along the characters you'd like to have and how you see using them!

Thank you for these details! I spoke with our Editor Team and learned that while we don't have current work carved out for this, it should be a fairly simple task to add more HTML special characters to the toolbar in the editor. We're seeing if we can fit it in somewhere, and in the meantime, I'm marking this as Not Planned, only since it isn't on the calendar. :) I'll keep this thread updated as that changes.

In the meantime, you can copy and paste the characters from a site like this, and those symbols will show up in any email client that supports HTML special characters.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, Katie -- hope you can get to adding something like this soon, but in the meantime, that idea does help. What exactly would I be copying and pasting, though???

You can use your cursor to highlight and copy the symbol itself, like this:

Then you can paste it into your text box. :)
