Is there a way to target users who are not in another segment?  I understand that I could do this via groups, but I'm trying to maintain one group with multiple segments...  I'm trying to catch the strange situations that I'm forgetting about in my other segments...  Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

You'll be able to create segments based on audience groups, as you've already mentioned, but there won't be a way to create a segment based off of another segment. My recommendation for a workaround would be to copy the segments to their own group, and then you'd be able to set up a new segment based off of the groups you just created as copies of those segments. (This is getting very Dr. Seuss-ish, right? No segments of segments, but segments of groups of segments are ok...)

I realize that may not be a perfect solution, because the group will just be a 'snapshot' of the segment, and won't update as the segment does, but hopefully it may help a bit.

Oh, and if you need help getting those segments copied, you'll just want to use the menu just above the list of email addresses when you open a segment:

Thanks, and I hope this helps!

Hi --

I came in to ask if there is a way to clone a segment, and I think this is my answer. But I'd still like to suggest "the ability to clone a segment" as a product option for development. I'd also like the ability to segment with a "one of" operator.

I currently have a segment that has about 100 different criteria all on the same data point.
Ex. Org Code = 1001
OR Org Code = 3421
OR Org Code = 4125, etc.

Now I want to take that segment and add a few more criteria for an upcoming mailing, but I still want the existing segment to exist.

I can provide more info if that would be helpful but, any chance that anything like either of these is in the works?

Hi Laurie,

Now that the new segmenting tool is available for all accounts, you should be able to duplicate your existing segments by clicking the drop down triangle on the right-side of your screen across from the segment name and select "Duplicate".

I hope this helps...Cheers!
