I tried to build two templates yesterday and neither of them saved.  The first, I may not have saved properly, as this is my first attempt. - I saved it as "save as copy".  The second attempt, however, I saved as "save as template" and I was VERY intentional about saving along the way, etc. - today, all that is left of my work is the contact information.  Please help!

Hi there Dismas,

I hate to hear about that frustrating experience- let's see if we can figure out what may have happened.

I'll first touch on what should happen when you use "Save a copy" or "Save as template":
Save a copy
This function will create a new copy of the campaign that will show up in the "Unsent" tab of your campaigns area. The mailing will display there under whatever name you assigned to the mailing when you used the Save a copy function. You should also notice that right after you do that, you'll then be working in the copy that you just created within the editor, rather than the original campaign that you were working from.

Save as template
This function will take the mailing in that current state, and creates a new template in your account that you'll be able to select from when you're creating a new campaign, or swapping templates within the editor. It's important to note that if you chose to save as a template, the template will saves with the content that was there at the time of saving as a template- like a snapshot of the campaign when you chose to save as a template. So, if you're continuing to edit that mailing, the template won't reflect any of those subsequent edits- so, it's best to ensure you use Save as template when the mailing is in the state you want the template to reflect

I'd like to find out a bit about the process that you used and where you navigated throughout that process so we can try to pin down where things went wrong. Can you first please let me know the name of the original campaign you created, and the name of the copy that you made? Please also let me know if you navigated away from the editor between saving the copy of the campaign and subsequently saving that as a template.

With all of that in mind, please also check out the campaigns in your unsent tab to see if you can spot the finished copy that you created- if so, please go ahead and try to use the Save as template function again and let us know what happens.
