When people receive the email on android phones it is not mobile friendly. The type is small and it needs to be enlarged to read it. iPhones seem to work fine

Hi There,

Not all email clients support mobile-responsive emails. Those that aren't responsive are:
  • iPhone (Gmail app, Yahoo! Mail app)
  • Android (Gmail app, Yahoo! Mail app, Android 5 default email client is Gmail)
  • BlackBerry (OS 5)
  • Windows (Mobile 6.1, Windows Phone 7 and 8)
Is there a specific one, not on this list, that you would like me to check into?

The standard iPhone mail app is responsive.  That's the one we see most of.

This article from Litmus is a bit old, but explains a lot of the hows and whys:  https://litmus.com/blog/the-how-to-guide-to-responsive-email-design-infographic

Gmail did make some changes recently that added responsiveness in SOME environments.

The best way to figure out for any specific app is to ask if they "support media queries".
