This conversation is no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members. The community moderator provided the following reason for archiving: bug resolved

When I click on "Open webview in a new window" on a recent mailing, the resulting window displays only the following: {"error": "malformed start tag, at line 1, column 4616"}

I'm using Chrome. Can someone advise on how to fix this?

Many thanks,
- Dawn

Hi Dawn -- Thank you for all of those details! I'm replicating that error on my end as well using Chrome and Firefox. I'm going to dig in further to see if we can isolate the cause of that error. I'll reach out here when I know more!

Hi Dawn -- I've isolated the issue to the angled brackets used around the email addresses in your mailing. Those can be tricky because the editor really sees them as HTML. Using those in a link can break the structure of the link, and in this case, affects the online version of your mailing.

Just avoid using those in or around links and you'll be all set moving forward! Thanks :)

Hi Sara Beth -- Thanks for reaching out? Are you getting the same error as listed above? I'd like to take a look at that mailing to see if I can find the cause for the error. Can you tell me which mailing response you're trying to view?

Thank you! I'm trying to view "IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ 2015 San Diego 1 Follow Up - SB - COPY 2015-06-22 10:00 AM"

Thanks! Looks like you're running into the issue here where the angle brackets in your mailing are causing that error when viewing the online version. I removed the angle brackets from this line of your mailing:

Title: <SI location> <strand name> <staff developers’ last names>

Then I sent myself a test and was able to open the webview from that test mailing response successfully. You can use the webview link from that test if you need to link to it, since it's essentially the same mailing, just minus the brackets. Or you can edit that copy (IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ 2015 Anaheim Follow Up - SB - no angle brackets) as needed and send another test to get a fresh webview link.
