When saving mailing results as segment, is it static or will it populate with new contacts as they open/click?

I want to send a newsletter to everyone who clicked a particular link in a sent campaign. If I create a segment from the results of the mailing via "Save this tab as a segment," will the segment continue to populate as more and more people click on that link, or is it a one-time snapshot?

Hi Lauren - thanks for reaching out! That's a great question and I'd be happy to shine some light on it.

If you create a segment from the Response page using "save tab as segment", that segment will dynamically update as more contacts are eligible to be put into it. That means if you create that segment of contacts who clicked, the segment will grow to match any additional clicks that come through after it has been created.

If you were hoping for it to just be a one-time snapshot of the list of contacts, you'll want to save the tab as a segment and then copy that segment to a group. Groups are static, so that would be a good way to keep the list exactly as it was when you saved it.

I hope this is helpful! Give me a shout if you have any other questions.
